The manufacturing of gear related products such as gear boxes, speed reducers, gear drives and transmissions are only a small sample of the applications that require the live centers, dead centers, and face drivers and custom work holding fixtures designed and manufactured by Riten Industries. Our face drivers and tailstock live centers are instrumental in the manufacture of gear shafts ranging from under one inch to over fifteen inches in diameter. Special internal and external work holding products such as knife drivers, expanding collets and hydraulic arbors are used in hobbing, shaving, shaping, grinding and inspection applications. Riten standard dead centers and custom designed dead centers are also used in finish grinding and final inspection applications.

Versatility

Our standard face drivers feature the capability to turn a large range of part diameters, from small transmission shafts to very large shafts used in pulverizing machinery. At one large Midwest gear manufacturer our standard 48FM face driver holds a family of shafts during both the roughing and finish turning operations. Major work piece diameters range from under three inches to over fourteen inches in diameter. Riten face drivers are often used in conjunction with CNC Heavy Duty live centers. Depending on the taper, Heavy Duty live centers can support part weights in excess of twenty thousand pounds, while Super Duty live centers can support part weights in excess of sixty thousand pounds.
